  • Steve Ginsberg is a multi-instrumentalist, (bass, vocals, keyboards, guitar...) producer and songwriter with a deep-rooted passion for a wide range of funk, soul, acoustic music, jazz and rock. Originally from just outside Boston, Massachusetts, Steve first made his mark with Brave New World and Brother John before heading west to San Francisco.  Over the years, he's co-founded Jamerican Dream, Velvet James, Palace of the King, and Bob Coons OrchestraIn 2013, he formed The Funkery, producing three studio albums starting with 2015's Brew the Funk, followed by Thinking Outside the Funk (2018) and Cope in 2024.

In addition to fronting his own projects, Steve has collaborated as a producer and musician with artists such as Greg Studley and Tere Jaye. In 2020 Tere and Steve completed a beautiful cover of That's How Strong My Love Is. In 2021, Steve released his debut solo album, When Everything Changed, and contributed keyboards and orchestration to Pony Rabco's album 30. Since then, he has continued to release solo tracks and, in 2024, became a founding member of Strange People, a tribute to The Doors playing keys.

In his latest project, Steve brings his love of soul and funk to bass and vocals in Diana and the Mission, blending deep grooves with the band’s jazz, neo-soul, and pop-infused sound.

    additional musical contributions include

work with OG's Blues Band, Dan Riley and the Blazers, and Wind Cries Larry.
